Testing Milton Friedman

2012 is the 100th anniversary of Milton Friedman’s birth.  His work and ideas continue to make the world a better place.  As part of Milton Friedman’s Century, a revival of the ideas featured in the landmark television series Free To Choose are being revisited in a new 3-part PBS broadcast.

Featuring new and timely discussions, the programs look at the key arguments of economic freedom and the role of government as present in the following three original programs.

  • The Power of the Market presents the classic explanation and demonstration of the workings and benefits of free trade / economic freedom.

  • Tyranny of Control shows the loss of prosperity and freedom that occurs when legislators intervene in the market, often in collusion with businesses seeking protection from competition.

  • Created Equal explains that equality of opportunity leads to economic prosperity and personal freedom, whereas attempts to achieve equal outcomes will result in neither.

Testing Milton Friedman offers interesting perspective of the fundamental ideas we associate with Milton Friedman: the power of the free market, free trade, freedom and equality.
